Customer Review: Great low cost GPS
As with most consumer electronic products, I tend to do a lot of research before I buy. I checked out Garmin, Tom Tom, Navigon, and Magellan products in all price ranges, by reading the tech specs, and playing with them at the local stores. While all of these manufacturers make good units, I ulitmately decided on the Magellan 1412. Here are a couple of reasons why:

Customer Review: Magella Maestro
I have a Magellan Maestrol 3210 for our use and am so happy with it that I have purchased a second one as a gift. Great product !!
Customer Review: Good for the price
I was looking for an inexpensive nav unit and liked this one. Nice features for the price and works well. Would be better if it spoke street names. Sometimes picks goofy route that you know isn’t the shortest/fastest way. All in all, I’m happy with the unit.

Magellan Maestro 3250 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

Magellan - No Comments » - Posted on July, 18 at 5:05 am

Magellan Maestro 3250 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator We’ve been big fans of Magellan’s Maestro line since it came out in early 2006. The Maestro interface is incredibly easy to use, even for those who are not completely comfortable with electronics. At the same time, Magellan was ahead of the industry with useful innovations like multi-destination routing and pre-loaded reviews for points of interest like hotels and restaurants (from AAA). With its 3200 and 4200 series, Magellan has improved the Maestro line giving them a SirfStar III chipset that provides super-fast. satellite lock and making them thinner. In fact, at .7 inches, these are — at the time of this writing (November 2007), the thinnest portable GPS navigators available. Distingushing between models is also fairly easy.

3200 and 4200 Family of Navigators
Distingushing between models is also fairly easy. The 3200-series navigators feature a 3.5-inch screen, while the 4200s have a 4.3-inch widescreen display. The 3200 and 4200 offer great, basic navigation with turn-by-turn spoken directions, pre-loade maps of the 48 contiguous United States, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, and 1.3 million POIs. The 3210 and 4210, add maps for Canada and Alaska, AAA travel information (see details below) and bump you up to 6 million POIs. The 3220 and 4220 add maps of Mexico. The top-of-the-line 3250 and 4250 add a host of other features, including text-to-speech directions that give real street names, bluetooth for hands-free phone calls, integrated traffic (with a free 3-month subscription), and voice command.

Customer Review: Last time on Sale here bought one
Considering what this device could be but isn’t is very disappointing and does reflect poorly on Magellan. It cannot find my bank even when I enter the address and tell it the name. It cannot find DMV, I had to go on the internet to get the address and then enter that. Other then that it is very cool with the touch screen and talking directions. Now if it only had updated directions.
Customer Review: magellan accessories
I received a Magellan 4250 for Fathers’ Day. A week later the car charger/FM wire fell apart. I ordered two chargers online from their website three weeks ago. It’s still not here and they give the “foreign customer service” runaround when you try to find out where your stuff is.Kind of like Dell. Really bad service.
