Garmin GSC 10 Speed Cadence Sensor for Edge and Forerunner Series (010-10644-00)

Garmin - No Comments » - Posted on July, 21 at 5:00 pm

Garmin GSC 10 Speed Cadence Sensor for Edge and Forerunner Series (010-10644-00) A good companion for Garmin’s Edge 305 and 305CAD cycle computers and the Garmin Forerunner 305 personal trainer, the GSC 10 monitors your cycling rhythm for up-to-the-minute results and later analysis. The self-calibrating, wireless unit measures both speed (in pedaling strokes per minute) and cadence , then provides feedback to the user for optimal performance. You can later feed the results to Garmin’s Training Center software, which helps you tailor your workouts to meet specific goals and objectives.

Like the Garmin heart rate monitor, the GSC 10 attaches easily to your bike, where its sensors detect signals from your wheels and send the information wirelessly to your personal trainer/cycle computer. It’s also backed by a one-year warranty.
Customer Review: Garmin GSC 10 Speed Cadence sensor
I am using this on my second bike - and it and the entire Garmin Edge 305 system, works very well.
The Edge 305 has multiple bike profiles, so I’ve tuned the second profile to this sensor.
Care needs to be taken to install the sensor correctly so it aligns properly with both speed and cadence magnets.
The only observation is that the cadence magnet, the one that sticks on the left crank, is a little tricky to space relative to the sensor. In one bike it required a home-made spacer, such that it would bring it closer (within spec) to the sensor. This will depend on your bike and as I said I only had to build this for one of my bikes. Still, it would be nice if Garmin offered such a spacer.

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens

Canon - No Comments » - Posted on July, 21 at 5:00 am

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens Lightweight and affordable, the Canon EF 50mm lens–which offers a fast f/1.8 aperture–is an excellent lens for people who prefer a fixed focal length. Canon’s lightest EF lens at a mere 4.6 ounces, the lens boasts a traditional Gauss-type optical design that delivers a sharp performance even when wide open. As a result, the lens provides an image that’s extremely close to how your eye perceives a subject, making it excellent for portraits and images that require a natural depth of field. In addition, the lens focuses as close as 18 inches, helping you take extreme close-ups. Finally, the lens offers an excellent color balance. As with all Canon lenses, the lens carries a one-year warranty.

  • Focal length: 50mm
  • Maximum aperture: 1:1.8
  • Lens construction: 6 elements in 5 groups
  • Diagonal angle of view: 46 degrees
  • Focus adjustment: Overall linear extension system with Micromotor
  • Closest focusing distance: 1.5 feet
  • Filter size: 52mm
  • Dimensions: 2.7 inches in diameter, 1.6 inches long
  • Weight: 4.6 ounces

Customer Review: I like this lens.
This is a fun lens. Definitely good for shooting portraits. Was only disappointed with shipping as it was through another company but I was not informed when it would arrive so I ended up with extra charges. Don’t know how that can be improved. Still a good lens to buy!
Customer Review: Wow
I’m by no means a professional photographer, but this lense makes some of my photos look professional. If I were you, I would not hesitate a second adding this one to my camera bag.

Customer Review: Small, yet powerful
This is my first GPS unit. I wanted a full-featured but smaller unit I could carry easily in my pocket - this GPS fits the bill. The base snaps on and off for a quick transition from the window suction mount. Very easy to set up and the TomTom Home application for updates, add-ons (voices, icon symbols, etc.) is very easy to use. I purchased it in early June 08 for right under $200 including tax and shipping. The only problem I have had is that the unit will occasionally fall off the suction mount.
Customer Review: Great value and a great product
I ordered this TomTomOne for my 75 year old grandmother who has to drive into the city a lot for doctor’s appointments. Amazon had the best price too, even when the local stores had them on sale! I got the chance to use it when I was visiting as well. It is so easy to use that she was able to set it up and start using it the day she received it. The volume is loud enought that she can hear it and understand the directions easily. It has given her a lot more confidence on the road, not needing to look for street signs that are sometimes not there or missing a turn because it will correct your course if you make a mistake. I love it and am thinking about putting it on my Christmas list this year too!

Garmin 12-Volt Vehicle DC Power Adapter for the StreetPilot C510 and C550 (010-10747-03) Charge your GPS as you drive with this 12-volt adapter cable. Perfect for 2nd vehicle use, this item is not a replacement cable for the MSN Direct receiver with integrated vehicle power cable that is included in the box with some units.
Customer Review: Aweful!
This charger is VERY FLIMSY. We used it for about a week before the charging pin section came apart - now it does not work. IF AMAZON READS THIS - I expect a replacement OR my money back.
